On September 5, 2023, B.Sc III Statistics students, including Swarali, Manasi, Vaibhav, Vishal, and Karishma, organized a remarkable Teachers' Day celebration at the Department of Statistics. This report highlights the activities of the day, with a special focus on the statistics lectures delivered by the B.Sc III students to their junior counterparts.Opening Ceremony:The event commenced at 10:00 a.m. with a heartfelt tribute to the teaching staff. Swarali, representing the organizing committee, expressed gratitude for the invaluable guidance provided by the teachers. The opening ceremony set a positive tone for the day's festivities.

Statistics Lectures:One of the standout features of this Teachers' Day celebration was the initiative taken by the B.Sc III Statistics students to conduct statistics lectures for B.Sc II and B.Com II students. These lectures were conducted in well-structured sessions in different classrooms throughout the day.Session 1 (10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.): Vishal and Manasi led a session on "Probability and Sampling" for B.Sc II Statistics students. Their comprehensive explanations and interactive approach were well-received.Session 2 (1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.): Vaibhav and Karishma conducted a session titled "Statistical Analysis Techniques" for B.Com II students. They simplified complex statistical concepts, making them accessible and engaging.

Interactive Workshops: Apart from lectures, interactive workshops were held in parallel. Swarali facilitated a session on "Data Visualization" for interested students, enhancing their practical skills in statistics.Cultural Performances and AppreciationThe event's cultural segment showcased the diverse talents of the students, with dance, music, and drama performances that entertained and delighted the audience. Teachers were also appreciated with handmade cards and small tokens of gratitude.

Conclusion:

The Teachers' Day celebration, led by B.Sc III Statistics students, was a day of both appreciation and education. The statistics lectures provided an excellent opportunity for junior students to learn from their senior peers, fostering a collaborative learning environment. This initiative not only highlighted the commitment of the B.Sc III students but also showcased their teaching abilities.

The cultural performances added a touch of celebration to the day, bringing joy to both students and teachers. It was a heartwarming event that strengthened the bond between students and educators.

We extend our appreciation to Swarali, Manasi, Vaibhav, Vishal, and Karishma for their outstanding efforts in organizing this memorable Teachers' Day celebration. Their dedication to education and their teachers was truly commendable.

In conclusion, the Teachers' Day celebration on September 5, 2023, at the Department of Statistics, was a resounding success, promoting the spirit of learning, teaching, and togetherness within the academic community.for this activity the Students of B.Sc.II and B.Sc.III statistics were presented ,HOD Mr.Avdhut Prakash Dhokare. Faculty Members Mr.V.R.Suryawanshi,Mr.R.C.Sadalage and Mrs.Narmarata Sawant were presented to this Teachers Day Celebration. There are total 22 Students and 04 Faculty members are present.

Conducted on Friday, 31st March, 2023

A one day workshop on “Applications of Statistics” was organized by Department of Statistics on Friday, 31st March, 2023 under the Lead College Scheme of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The Vice-Principal and the Guests for the day illuminated the traditional lamp at the foyer of the auditorium. The Lamp’s got lightened up, to mark the pleasant and auspicious beginning of the Day.

The workshop was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of In-charge Principal, Mr. D. A. Yadav and the chief guest Mr. Ashok Bhosale at 11:30 A.M. Mr. Dhokare A. P. introduced and welcomed the guests. After which the key note session was followed. The key note address was given by chief guest Mr. Ashok Bhosale. He is a distinguished Assistant Professor of Vivekanand College, Kolhapur. In First Session He gave an enlightening speech on the topic “Applications of Statistics” . Starting From the Career Opportunities in statistics in Government Sector, Private Sector and Semi-Government Sector they give detailed information about Syllabus, Selection Criteria and Selection Process which is very informative for students. After that he explained the how to do Statistical Analysis in ‘MS-Excel’.

Following this speech, there was a wonderful interactive session where the audience interacted with the speakers clarifying their doubts and asking interesting questions.

After the lunch break, at 02:00 PM, In Session Second Mr. Ashok Bhosale Sir, give the Practical Demonstration of Statistical Analysis using ‘MS-Excel’. They do the Statistical Analysis like Graphical representation, Measures of Central Tendency, Measures of Dispersion , Correlation and Regression . Each and every student will do this practical and enjoy with friendly communication of Mr. Ashok Bhosale Sir.

The successful programme ended around 5:00 PM with the valedictory session and Vote of Thanks by Dr. A. N. Patil. The workshop was very informative and provided the participants with valuable knowledge on various aspects of Applications of Statistics . For this workshop around 50 students with their faculty members of various colleges were present. They loved the event as a whole.

The Department of Statistics organized the Inaugural Function of B.Sc. III Statistics and Poster Presentation on Saturday, 1 January 2022, marking the beginning of a new and exciting academic journey for the final-year Statistics students.

The programme was designed not only to welcome the students into their final year but also to encourage them to explore Statistics beyond textbooks and classrooms through creative expression, visual communication and academic interaction.

A Grand Beginning to the Final Year

The programme was graced by Mr. Udaysing Patil, Chairman, Construction Committee, Ichalkaranji Municipal Corporation, as the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. V. S. Dekhale.

The presence of distinguished guests, faculty members and students added significance to the occasion and created an encouraging atmosphere for the B.Sc. III students as they embarked upon an important stage of their academic journey.

Inspiring Words and Warm Welcome

The programme commenced with an Introduction and Welcome by Mr. A. P. Dhokare, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students.

The presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Udaysing Patil, provided an opportunity for students to gain inspiration from a distinguished personality associated with public service and civic development.

Principal Dr. V. S. Dekhale, who presided over the programme, provided valuable academic guidance and encouragement to the students. His presence reflected the institution's commitment to supporting students in their academic and personal development.

Poster Presentation – Statistics Beyond the Textbook

Heads of various departments, teaching faculty and non-teaching staff also graced the occasion with their presence.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. V. R. Suryawanshi, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, college authorities, faculty members, staff and students for their valuable presence and support.

The Department has arranged guest lecture on the occasion of National Statistics Day 2021 dated on 29 June 2021. The Resource person of this activity was Mrs.Varsha Pawar (Associate Professor), Vivekanad College ,Kolhapur. She delivered a very informative speech on Application of Statistics in Various Fields. The president of this Activity was I/C Principal Dr.V.S.Dekhale Sir. the faculty memeber of department of statistics had arranged this lecture for B.Sc.I, B.Sc.II and B.Com.II Statistics Students.There are more than 60 Students have joined this leacture through Google Meet.
